I finished cup two of coffee and my artist pages for the day. I’m feeling pretty good about the day. The possibilities are endless.
It is cloudy today with a little breeze. Under my ceiling fan I don't even notice the high humidity. We finally got a bit of rain yesterday. We were getting frustrated by the thunder storms that rumbled through with empty promises of precipitation. I almost had to water my lawn. That is not the Southern way. I’ll happily let God handle the watering. Now if only there were weeding angels. Oops. That seems a little too far. Sorry God.
Anyway, here I sit all high on life and high on positive accomplishments. I spent yesterday painting the dreary bricks in my new art studio.
Yes, my art studio! We are close enough to finishing it I can finally start to see myself creating in it. Year four of the Ford Family Farm restoration has been slow going. Phase II is kicking our ass most days. Yesterday we started to see the fruit of our toils.
I think I am going to like it in here. I can hardly remember what this area looked like before. This was the most rustic part of the house originally, seeming mostly like an outdoor space. Honestly, I proposed knocking this part down. I am so glad we didn't knock it down.
This is the far corner of our house. You can enter from outside or through the nearly completed sunroom off the “master bedroom”. I specifically requested a dedicated space, so Randy made a hallway that splits his mancave and my studio into two rooms. It has a nook that is supposed to be designated for storage, but I am worrying that I already have too much stuff for it. What artist complains of too many art supplies? Forgive me. It is probably just an organization issue. I need all of it.
I can't wait to get messy and go nuts in this space. Hopefully, next year it will be full of projects in various stages of completion. I can't wait to share them with you.
So glad to see you art studio coming together!! Woot woot!!
