I saw a few bold truth bombs shoot across the Substack sky today that inspired me to offer a shout out to some Substack writers I particularly admire. As a certified Jaded Joyologist, I like my truth edgy and if you can make it funny even better. Truthfully, if you make it funny you will keep my attention long enough to absorb the information. Okay, I have a pretty short attention span, give me truth, make it funny, and I don't mind a little snarkiness.
So today Tessa Fights Robots caught my eye with some careless scissors references here:
BAM! That is a lot of prophetic truth right there. The comments introduced me to yet another clever linguist that summed up our valid frustration in song here:
So here are a few of my favorites I would like to share with you. Bad Cattitude has lot of great data analysis and an absurd collection of cat memes. Why no caps, you ask? Cats can't use the shift key with their little paws. Why cats? I think a little blue bird drove them to it.
Also, I like to read John Carter Postcards From Barsoom. He got me with his study of truth.
The 2nd smartest guy in the room routinely nails it.
A few others are Sage Hana, Brownstone Insights, and the Overton Report (for local school news).
Now I might look like a conspiracy buff to some and well informed to others. I can assure you that I am neither. I hope you will check out a few of these writers. You may find one that speaks to you.
Thank you, Jaded Joyologist! Nice round up of top notch stackers you got there. Humbled to be included. 🙏
All are wonderful. I wouldn t have been able to BEAR the past 2.5 years without Substack and its wonderful, funny, thought provoking truth tellers. They have kept me sane.
