Okay, my friends may know that I like to ramble on about my five favorite “S” words on occasion. Some also know, there may or may not be 5 actual words, but that's not the point. The point is, there are some great words with great meaning that happen to start with “s”.
Today's word is “symbiosis”. What a word, what a concept, what an amazing world. I got to share my love of all things symbiotic today with some kids down the road. When I got home I saw a post that shared an article about just the thing I struggled to describe.
symbiotic relationships are God's beautiful way of showing us that nothing He made was an accident. My link setting is not working, but here is the site: https://www.earth.com/news/symbiotic-relationship-plant-roots-underground-mycorrhizal-fungi/ationshGTGip-plant-roots-undergr
Thank you fungi friend https://open.substack.com/pub/fungifriday/p/the-return-of-mushroom-season?r=18rxe0&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
This morning I visited my neighbors homeschool group and shared some family fungi facts and sent them out exploring. Even though it's not quite mushroom season, we had some pretty great finds.
The kids and parents were pretty impressed with my spore print and no one seemed too concerned that my answer to, “What is this mushroom?” was mostly, “I don't know.” Maybe the key to being a good forager is knowing what you don't know.
My favorite part was when one kid had me go exploring with him and showed me the mushrooms he drew in his journal I made. He told me he would add more later and show me next time he saw me.
You're a bit "S"illy.
