Magnolia Moments
The heat didn't keep me from my intended mission today. I set out to paint and sketch at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. Every time I stopped by the water, the mosquitoes swarmed me. So I kept walking and took a few speed walking photos along the way. I eventually stopped at a shady seat next to this lovely magnolia blossom. As I was sketching it, a bee climbed into the center of the flower knocking stamin around. I incorporated her into my sketch and she fit there nicely, although a bit vague.
After sketching with a very thick pen, I brought out my handy dandy colored pencils. I love swishing water across the pigment and bringing the colors to life.
