Last Saturday Elizabeth Hargrove and I had our duo artists reception with the Summerville Artists Guild in the St George library in St George, SC.
Elizabeth paints vibrant tropical scenes with acrylics. Many of her paintings are inspired by her travels. My paintings are mostly realistic watercolors of people, nature and animals. I think our pieces displayed nicely together. This was the only the second reception to be held at the library so we are still getting the word out. Quite a few Guild members showed up as well as friends invited by both artists. I was happy to see that both upcoming artists that I scheduled shows for came to see the venue and plan for their future shows. Every two months the library will display a new exhibit featuring our Summerville Artists Guild artist and we will have a reception each time.
There was a nice turn out and it was fun and inspiring speaking with the other artists and sharing our work and ideas. I appreciated the opportunity to show my work and get it out of storage and out in the world. Elizabeth said she likes showing several pieces at a time more than just one piece, because it gives viewers a clearer representation of her style. Our works will be on display until the end of July.
The rest of the week as been busy with painting and fireworks with family. I know what you are thinking, more painting, fun. It’s a different kind of painting.
Our house is finally to the painting stage and that is exciting. After we are done painting, we will be able to install the electric and really get our house together. Randy is always amazed at what a messy painter I am. I am getting most of the paint on the walls, honest
.
You're cute.
I am the same way! Messy at painting!!! The house looks amazing! I love the accent wall color.
