This is a peek at the treacherous journey of one little artist striving to connect with the mysterious outside world. I stumbled across this little advertisement video I made promoting my endeavors five years ago.
I’m sure we are all tired of talking about 2019, but this is where this journey starts. Us public artists outside city hall were sent home and tasked with the ambitious role of live streaming our art on Fridays. After being deemed “non-essential, “ with my students at home and no art lessons to share, I decided to reach out to the ether-net and share my love of creativity.
I really felt like I should share some positivity and maybe even give children and other non-essentials something to do. Easy peesy, right?
Umm. Well, with my social anxiety and tech naitity, things were a little bumpy. Some Fridays, I would feel so prepared with an amazing process video all cued up only to find my internet connection wouldn't upload. Sometimes I would think my live painting was streaming and then later realize it was a flop.
I didn't count them as failures. Instead they were learning opportunities. I learned a lot of ways that didn't work.
If you only do things you think you are good at, you will never grow. I think I have grown a lot these last five years
I saw this headline on a magazine that I found encouraging. If quirks are my superpower, then I am doing pretty good. .
*Note: There is no Friday video in theworks.
