YeS, it iS another Silly ‘S’ poSt, but although I am Silly, I am Sincere. Synergy is another word and concept I simply love. The idea of two or more things coming together and being stronger than the sum of each individual part is surely beautiful. It is seen in nature all around, specifically in my fungi friends, symbiotically working with trees and insects. It is also something seen in people. The right relationship can make people stronger, more confident, kinder, happier. The possibilities are endless.
My little synergy story is much simpler and more subtle than God’s awe inspiring connections. My story is about a process in art that makes me very happy. I like to paint two paintings and then merge them together.
The idea of merging two images or ideas to make a stronger (hopefully) image really excites me. Of course, there is the real danger of just ruining two paintings instead of making one painting, but so far I have been happy with the results.

I am going to have four of them on display at two different art festivals this month. My two newest will be at the North Charleston Arts Fest. I will also have two at WHAM! in Walterboro. I am happy that I will have so much art on display at one time. They can keep each other company and hopefully build each other up.
