It's funny, whenever someone asks me what my favorite color is, I always waffle around and say something like “deep blues or burgundy reds”. I never commit to a particular hue. Today I had the revelation that I do have a partiality to a particular color inparticular. Since about 1986 I discovered a certain chroma that really caught my eye, literally. My favorite eyeliner was “Teal”. It caught my eye and won my heart so completely that I took that eyeliner pencil to the paint shop to have paint mixed for my first car, a ‘67 VW bug. Teal looked great on us.
Last year when I bought paint for my beloved chicken trailer, “Hidden Magic” was the swatch for me ( but who are we kidding? This is just Teal with a different label.
I thought I had my coop video on Substack but I can't find it. You can see it here on Instagram, video by @sprestonford
As I paint my newly installed front door, I can't help but pull out my trusty can of Hidden Magic and paint my door teal.
Yes, that's right. I have a front door now. Things are really coming along nicely with our house. Don't worry, I won't paint the whole thing teal. A little goes a long way.
Front doors are fun. You can get get away with being bold on a small scale. I feel like it is a piece of jewelry for our house. Just a bit of sparkle and color pop.
Would your favorite color look good on your front door?
LMAO!! Sisters 👯♀️ to the core. My house color I picked for my whole house is teal!!! I looooove teal. Green and blue soooo beautiful 🤩
Maybe that's what pulled me in.
