Woven Watercolor

An explanation of an artist's process
2

I noticed today that for an artist newsletter, I have an awful lot of mushrooms and building updates without much art. That is an accurate depiction of my life right now, full of busy exploring and trying to get our lives in order. Art is my passion and eventually, I hope to share more art videos here. Three years ago, I created and posted art videos in coordination with Shasta Arts Council in Redding, California for Artists On Market. When the world shut down, the artists that used to meet in front of Old City Hall and paint and display their work were encouraged to post a live demonstration on Facebook . That began my learning curve of videography and trying to be less self-conscious. I am no longer on face book, but somewhere in the stratosphere is a library of awkward videos.

I am reposting excerpts of them to my newsletter. This video is a compilation of my woven watercolors with an explanation about the process. I really enjoy the synergy of combining two images. I feel like the process is a big part of the artist work. It is a little scary, because you may end up destroying two original paintings. So far, I have liked the end result more than the original.
