My sister and I spent most of our childhood focusing on how different we were. As adults we keep finding how similar we really are and our sister connection strengthens with age.
To say she wasn't happy when I told her I was moving to the opposite coast would be an understatement. She insisted we get matching tattoos before I left California. I have never been a tattoo person. I am actually very anti tattoo. I could see how much it meant to her so I let her talk me into it. Big sisters can be very influencial.
I designed our yin and yang ocean wave tattoos and we had them placed on opposite ankles. She was right. They are a fun reminder of our connection.
We often send each other a simple text with just a pic of our relaxed ankles. A simple, “hello” “ miss you” and always “wish you were here”
I just had to laugh yesterday when she sent me the following picture. It's like she knew I was thinking of her. Not only that, we were both making art out of our ankles at the same time. My sister has left her mark on me, and I don't mean my blue ankle. She is always in my heart and I know, three hour difference be damned, I can always call her when I need a friend.
So this painting is dedicated to my big sister. I was going to surprise her with it for Christmas, but I can't wait to share it with her and everyone else who longs to have their friend at there side.
Still makes me cry... beautiful little story about us❤️❤️❤️
